We caught up with Coco mid-champs to find out more about this tennis star...turns out she's quite a chef.


How did you get into tennis?

My older bro started playing tennis before I did and I wanted to try everything he was dabbling in. So I guess I just followed his lead!

Who was your sporting idol growing up?

My mom was my idol. She is a two time Olympian and I think her work ethic in sports really inspired so much of the discipline and the competitive drive that I have today.

What do you eat before a big game?

Gotta be steak!

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?

I grip all of my rackets before my matches, and I put my left sock on before my right.

Where's your favourite place to play tennis?

There's a court in Laguna Beach, CA that is right on the ocean and the view and feel here is just unmatched.

If you weren't a tennis player what would you be doing?

Trying out my culinary talents probably! My friends are always surprised at how good my cooking is.

Mindful Chef Chipotle Chicken

What's your favourite meal?

My favourite is always steak and potatoes, but I'm a fan of chipotle chicken. That Mindful Dish was delicious!

What are you most grateful for?

I'm most thankful for being healthy and having the chance to do what I love.

What's your favourite stamp on your passport?

The Rio Olympics one!

What do you see yourself doing when your 55?

Dead, haha jk. Hopefully taking care of my kids and family, and finding the next exciting phase of my life (maybe Fed Cup captain one day!).
