From Californian comfort food joints to superfood cocktail bars, 2017 has already served up some incredible new healthy food hot spots. With even more set to open in the next few months, we’ve rounded up our pick of London’s hottest restaurant openings.

Bel-Air, Farringdon

“Born in LA, raised in Shoreditch.” That’s the tagline of London’s healthiest new fast food spot, and it couldn’t be more accurate. Combining the upbeat vibe of sunny California with the urban buzz of the capital, this is health food with a difference.

Whether you start the day with their Healthy Hangover Hash or opt for a speedy lunch of spicy blackened chicken, you’ll leave with a smile. That’s the Bel-Air guarantee.

Farmstand, Covent Garden

alt Farmstand does exactly what it says on the tin. It offers farm-to-fork eating that’s as good for the environment as it is for you. And it tastes pretty good too. With the option to build your own seasonal salads, this is the ultimate spot for an on-the-go lunch or a pre-theatre date.

Apres Food Co, Angel

Is it possible for a restaurant to banish gluten and sugar, yet still serve amazing comfort food? Yes it is, according to Apres Food Co, Angel’s newest health spot. Pledging to redefine the idea of hearty food, this laidback lunch spot serves up food that’s homely, fresh and nutritious. And if that wasn’t enough, almost everything on the menu is gluten, refined sugar and dairy free.

Maple and Kings, Kings Cross

Two words: superfood cocktails. This health-food-focused cafe is set to land in Kings Cross in April, bringing with it matcha pina coladas and cold-pressed beetroot mojitos. On top of the drinks, there’ll be all the makings for the perfect weekend brunch, including buckwheat crepes, gluten-free french toast and vegan baked goods.

Pancras Square, Kings Cross, N1CX 4AG Opens April 2017

The Gate, Marylebone

With two restaurants in Islington and Hammersmith, The Gate has managed to become a bit of an institution on the vegetarian scene. And with a brand spanking new restaurant in Marylebone, it’s now even easier to indulge in its award-winning Indo-Iraqi inspired dishes. The best bit? This is the only branch of The Gate to offer breakfast (and a delicious one at that).
