We know there is much on everyone’s mind at the moment with COVID-19 causing uncertainty. And we want to reassure you that at this point in time the service we provide you has not been impacted.
At Mindful Chef, our community always comes first. Together we are stronger and we hope we can help make healthy eating that bit easier for our customers at this time.
We wanted to share with you some of the processes we have put in place in order for us to continue delivering Mindful Chef, whilst prioritising the safety of both our customers and team.
How we can help
For those that aren’t already aware, we wanted to share a reminder of how Mindful Chef can potentially support you at this time:
- Mindful Chef continues to deliver 7 days a week nationwide. We offer recipe boxes for 1 person, 2 people and family recipe boxes
- Our range of frozen meals, which can be oven-cooked or microwaved, can be ordered for next day delivery from the Mindful Chef store
- The Mindful Chef store also offers a range of nutritious frozen fruit and veg smoothie mixes, including our popular frozen berry smoothies
- Contactless delivery – your Mindful Chef box can be left on your doorstep or in your designated safe place (you can update it in your account here)
- We’ve introduced a number of additional safety checks to ensure the safety of our customers and team,
Supporting our Suppliers
Our mission is to make healthy eating easy and at this time we know it’s more important than ever that we provide you with everything you need to prepare a nutritious meal. We’re working hard with our local suppliers to ensure we can continue supply as demand increases and have also been stocking up on our frozen meals and smoothies.
Our order cut-off is changing
To ensure we’re able to deliver you the best possible service during the COVID-19 outbreak, we’re temporarily moving the cut-off for editing orders forward by 24 hours. This means you’ll be able to make changes to your order up to 4 days before the delivery date. Previously, this was 3 days.
Why have we made this change?
- To give more time to our amazing community of suppliers as daily demand increases.
- To support our packing and delivery teams as our volumes increase, ensuring you get the highest quality service on the delivery day you choose.
Prioritising Food Safety
The NHS has stated that it is very unlikely that COVID-19 can be spread through food, but we are still taking additional precautions. To give you some reassurance, here is a little more on our food safety practices:
- We operate from a BRC AA rated facility (certified by the British Retail Consortium – we have the highest possible rating for our food safety standards)
- Supervisors are carrying out a dedicated temperature screening process of all workers on site, anyone displaying symptoms is sent home on paid leave
- We have increased levels of health surveillance across our business and our supply network
- Mindful Chef is paying for all of the onsite teams’ food and drinks to avoid the use of cash and to thank them for their hard work.
- Introduced additional sanitisation processes in all areas of the business
- All non-essential team members now working remotely as a precautionary measure
Communicating with our couriers
We are working closely with our courier partners to ensure the same high level of food safety is replicated, as well as the safety of the delivery drivers and our customers. The drivers are operating contactless delivery and will leave your box on the doorstep or in your designated safe place.
