1. Coconut oil
We have written extensively about the benefits of coconut oil in previous articles and research shows that diets rich in good fats, like those found in coconut oil, can increase your metabolism and energy. While at the same time also helping to get rid of body fat. We love coconut oil in the office, try using it when cooking your scrambled eggs. You can even put a spoonful in your morning coffee.
Talking of eggs, did you know that eggs contain a combination of lean protein, good fats, Vitamin B and natural antioxidants that help protect and enhance your vision. Eggs also contain a good amount of iron which your metabolism needs to function optimally. We recommend 2-3 eggs cooked in coconut oil to start your day off right.
If you order our boxes you will know we love avocados and use them in a lot of our recipes. Not only are they delicious but they also host a variety of health benefits. Avocados have healthy fats and a good amount of dietary fibre (which helps fight diabetes, obesity, weight gain and some cancers).
Not only do the fats help the quality of our skin, hair and fingernails but they also help our bodies recover from the stress of training. Good fats help repair muscle tissue and encourage our bodies to absorb fat-soluble vitamins found in our diets. If we didn’t have these fats we could become deficient in Vitamins A, D, E and K. Research shows that those people who do have a vitamin deficiency are more prone to have unwanted weight gain.
